Judder Test Machine

Judder Test Machine

During the engagement of the clutch, the continuous change in linear speeds of the lining and other metal parts, such as the flywheel and pressure plate, can lead to shudders within the system. A shudder disrupts the efficient functioning of the clutch, and this can directly influence the overall performance of the tractor.

The Importance of the Judder Test:

  • The Judder Test measures how the friction coefficient changes in response to varying linear speeds of the lining and the metal components during engagement. This is also termed "Speed Sensitivity".
  • The test assesses whether these variations can physically lead to shudders.
  • Furthermore, it determines and reports the "Damping Factor", indicating how much of the shuddering, potentially caused by other mechanical reasons, can be dampened.

With the Judder Test, Tradisk accurately gauges the clutch lining's predisposition to shudder, ensuring a more efficient and smooth operation of the tractor.
